Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Visual Re-Representation of Design Engineering Knowledge

چکیده

The exponential growth of data and information artefacts in engineering organisations are one the biggest limitations for engineers reusing design knowledge. Approaches to support efficient access critical design. In this paper, we demonstrate an exemplar “Super Document” principle using knowledge “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” process. Evidence suggests such recycled representations can reduce time spend on gathering from documents by up 70%. We outline approach empirical studies with in-service aerospace engineers. suggest visual better record communicate engineers, resulting a saving 70% per document seeking. infographic created uses re-representation large – reducing 100-page single page. An insight into next steps research concludes paper.

Reduce, reuse, and recycle: developmental evolution of trait diversification.

A major focus of evolutionary developmental (evo-devo) studies is to determine the genetic basis of variation in organismal form and function, both of which are fundamental to biological diversification. Pioneering work on metazoan and flowering plant systems has revealed conserved sets of genes that underlie the bauplan of organisms derived from a common ancestor. However, the extent to which ...

Reduce, reuse, recycle - Developmental signals in spinal cord regeneration.

Anamniotes, fishes and amphibians, have the capacity to regenerate spinal cord tissue after injury, generating new neurons that mature and integrate into the spinal circuitry. Elucidating the molecular signals that promote this regeneration is a fundamental question in regeneration research. Model systems, such as salamanders and larval and adult zebrafish are used to analyse successful regener...

Reduce, reuse & recycle: Efficiently solving multi-label MRFs

In this paper, we present novel techniques that improve the computational and memory efficiency of algorithms for solving multi-label energy functions arising from discrete MRFs or CRFs. These methods are motivated by the observations that the performance of minimization algorithms depends on: (a) the initialization used for the primal and dual variables; and (b) the number of primal variables ...
